Capacity building

At our Training Institute
1. Approx. 120 pupil are trained every year in S/W skills
2. At least 20 pupil are trained every year in H/W skills
3. Approx 10-15 trainees are adopted for Industrial Training/ Apprenticeship
4. Interactions with local industries/ business groups is established to generate
employment opportunities
VVF is partnering with CII, Indian Farmers and Industries Alliance and the Army Welfare
Corps to design ICT based skill sets for capacitating and rehabilitation of retired defense
personnel
VVF is conducting a Life-skill training module at Rajendar Ashram, housing 150 boys,
in various skills including computer hardware and troubleshooting. About 30 boys will
be equipped in the given skill-set and will be supported by VVF for setting up a
self-help group towards employment.


Content creation and deployment
Partnering with Media Labs Asia, One World South Asia, CDAC in Implementing ICT tools developed by agencies at
Grass-root level for its validation.

need assessments to understand local needs to be converted into ICT
tools

Community, Culture and
Cooperation

In the Najafgarh area, VVF
conducts awareness camps to educate
people on use and benefits of ICT skills in areas of livelihood
conducts school visits in Govt. schools to encourage students to adopt training in ICT skills as a vocation
encourages woman, especially
homemakers, to be trained in skill-sets based on ICT, 50-60% of trainees
at VVF are woman

sponsors 25-30 students each year from
underprivileged backgrounds in acquiring skill-based training in ICT
skills to improve their income options

Milestones crossed

Over 400 trainees have been made computer literate from Jan ’01 to
Mar’05 75% of the eligible students are successfully
employed with various organizations (some have also made it to big
organisations like Ranbaxy, McDonalds, DTDC, Airport Authority and Jal
Board).

guard, now working at CyberCafe after training by VVF

Vishu – son of construction worker, now working in DTP unit

Vijay – son of construction worker, now undergoing B.Com, wants to start CyberCafe, VVF will provide Capital

Sunita – daughter of
plumber, now working at Export House as data entry
operator

Lakhwinder a daughter of driver, now working at Courier company as data entry
operator

Pushpa – Homemaker, now managing own DTP unit
